After organizing a first half-day training session on resilience at ANRU on July 13th, Sustainable City by France organized an inspiration day in Rotterdam on September 21th for the Director General of the National Urban Regeneration Agency (ANRU) , Anne-Claire Mialot, and her team.
During this day, Arnaud Molenaar, Chief Resilience Officer Rotterdam, and Marleen ten Vergert, Program Manager BoTu 2028, shared their experiences within the strategy of the “Resilient BoTu 2028” program, which aims to make the popular Bospolder-Tussendijken (BoTu) district the first resilient district in the city.
This program, developed with and by the residents, combines several work streams such as the transition to sustainable energy, improvement of the building stock, building for living with water and heat as adaptations to climate change, and social inclusion and integration.
It aims to address neighborhood challenges in a holistic and integrated manner through three focus areas:
1. Work, language, and debt.
2.Health, youth and parenting.
3. Energy, housing and public space.

France Villes et territoires Durables would like to thank the Resilient BoTu teams for their hospitality and the inspiring experiences shared.
